The young Ghanaian who uses simple technology to arrest thieves
The Chief Executive Officer of Carlo Van Security Agency, Rufai Kasin is bringing safety and security to Ghanaian homes and businesses through technology.
How he got the idea
Through his past encounter with bandits in Ghana, Mr. Kasin was encouraged to find innovative means of providing security to homes and businesses. After two years of research and the zeal to accomplish his aim, he has come out with special devices to trap thieves.
In an exclusive interview with the Chief Executive Officer of crimecheckghana, Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng, Mr Kasin said, “… I came to Ghana in 2019 to purchase a house and armed robbers attacked me. This nightmarish experience pushed me to go back to study how to bring this invention.”
How the technology works
The Carlo Van Security Agency have panels that help to arrest thieves. These devices come with a door sensor, siren, sim cards, and batteries that make it impossible for robbers to disable it during their operations.
“Immediately customers buy the equipment, their prioritized numbers are installed on the panel so all one needs to do is to find safety in the house because the system will do all the job. The system will prerecord the event and call the prioritized emergency numbers for help.” Mr. Kasin said.
Normally, victims of robbery are denied access to their phones to call for help but this device according to the technology guru made of sim cards calls emergency numbers automatically and its able to call up to ten contacts for help. Users of the panel would have their information pre-recorded for it to perform its functions properly during emergencies.
One of the unique functions of the panel according to Mr Kasin is the outside siren, which has lights to direct people to the location where the operation may be taking place. Also, the cameras are monitored on a phone and communication between parties can be done through it.
