SICK MAN RECEIVES SUPPORT

Visually Impaired and diabetic Akwasi Nsiah receives support from Crime Check Foundation CCF to undergo advance medical care.

Akwasi Nsiah lives at Asuo Yeboah in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. He has been suffering from diabetes for the past 3years which he has affected his eye and physique.

According to him, he firstly went to the hospital but could not afford the medical bills so he resorted to traditional medicine. “I have tried all I can but there has not been any improvement. My condition worsens with time. I am now blind and growing slimmer as the day goes by”. He told crimecheckghana.

He said after getting blind, he went to the hospital to seek medical support. He added that doctors said he needs surgery to get his sight back. Akwasi said his family members have helped him but it is not enough so he could not undergo the surgery. “Life has not been easy for me. Someone always has to be available to help me since I cannot do anything on my own”.

The pale looking man said he is living in an uncompleted structure with his family but the owner of the structure is threatening to eject them. “I am the caretaker of the place but the owner says he wants to renovate the place so we should move out”. He said.

When crimecheckghana spoke to Akwasi’s wife, she said she was a petty trader but has lost her trading capital as she has to buy medications for her husband. “I cannot go out to look for work to do because I have been take care of him all the time. We cannot even afford our daily meals”. She told crimecheckghana.

Following the story, CCF has presented five hundred Ghana cedis to Akwasi Nsiah to help him start his medical process.

The visually impaired man was grateful to the Foundation. “God bless you for coming to my aid”.

CCF is appealing to the public to help Akwasi Nsiah undergo surgery to regain his sight.
