REGINA NKETIAH PLEADS FOR PUBLIC SUPPORT
Regina Nketiah weeps bitterly after spending all her savings on her little brother’s court case.
Regina’s brother was charged with defilement and he is currently being prosecuted. She says, the case has badly affected her finances. “I had a call that my brother was arrested by the police for defilement. He pleaded not guilty. According to the complainant, he heard her niece speaking on phone with my brother, after that he took her niece to the hospital, where it was confirmed that she has been defiled”. She told crimecheckghana.
The young lady said she had to borrow from friends to be able to raise an amount of three thousand Ghana cedis to bail her brother and also hire a lawyer. “I had borrowed two thousand Ghana cedis in addition to my rent. I used two thousand Ghana cedis to bail him and one thousand Ghana cedis to make initial payment to the lawyer who charged me five thousand Ghana cedis”. Ruth said.
According to Regina, her father stopped taking care of them few months after her mother’s demise. “My father remarried after my mother died. I work as a nail beautician to cater for myself and my brother since my father has refused to help us”.
The feeble looking lady said she has no one to turn to for help and all she does is to cry day and night. She said all her savings have gone into the case and she has to rest on her meager daily sales for her upkeep.
Following the story, Crime Check Foundation CCF donors, Madam Rose and Madam Gladys in the U.S have supported Ruth with one thousand Ghana cedis to cater for her rent.
She thanked CCF donors and said a word of prayer for them. “Thank you. I pray anything you touch with your hands be blessed”.
