NYARKO FAMILY DONATES TO MADAM CHRISTIANA OSEI

“If not for my grandchild, I think I will be better off dead than being alive”, says a 68 year old grandmother in dire need of support.

Madam Christiana lost her husband after she gave birth to her first child. In 2006, the child also passed away leaving her with one grandchild. Since then, life has become difficult for her and her grandchild.

The worried grandmother stays at Odorkor Official town, a suburb of Accra and depends on the benevolence of her neighbors to get her daily meal. She says she has to occasionally help as a storekeeper so she can be fed by its owners.

Family members she helped when she was financially stable, according to her, have neglected her. “I thought it wise to help my nephews and nieces so they can be of help to me in future. But ever since my child passed away, I have been abandoned by them”. Christiana said.

The 68 year old woman says her rent is due but she has no hope of paying it. She said she is going through at her current place because she is often beaten by bees and hopes to get a new place. “There is a tree closer to my room and it houses bees so they mostly come into the room. For more than five times, I have been beaten by them. I wish I can get money so I can leave the house since my rent is due”. She said.

Madam Christiana is appealing to the public to come to her aid. “Please help me because poverty is gradually killing me. I need to get a new place to lay my head and money to cater for my daily needs. I need your help so I can live longer and take care of my grandchild”.

To help Grandma afford her daily meals, the Nyarko family in the U.S through Crime Check Foundation CCF has given her two hundred Ghana cedis.

Grandma could not hide her tears when the Foundation handed over the money to her. “I am so grateful to the family. God bless them and their generations to come. May every business of theirs expand as they have supported me”.
