Mother of two who defecates through her side begs for help

Known as Mavis, her stool passage has been medically shifted from the normal outlet to the side of her body.

This was carried out by doctors after the mother of three reported that she passed stool through her vagina.

Mavis says she has undergone several sessions of chemotherapy when the ailment started. She said she felt well for a short period after which she began to bleed again.

“The disease reemerged when I excreted through my vagina. I am unable to go about selling because I bleed,” she cried.

The young woman who is in her early thirties lives in an uncompleted building at Dansoman in Accra.

She says she cannot afford three square meals a day and struggles to raise Ghc 3,000 to further her chemotherapy treatment.

She told crimecheckghana.org how life has been unfair to her while appealing for public support for her treatment.

Mavis will add to the list of patients receiving treatments funded by Crime Check Foundation (CCF) under its Health Check Series initiative.

The organization gave her Ghc 500 for her upkeep as it looks forward to contributions from benevolent individuals and groups to enable it to assist Mavis considering the huge cost of chemotherapy.

Under the Health Check Series, CCF has been able to pay for the treatment of patients suffering from kidney diseases and other ailments that require heavy financial muscles to be able to fund.
