Man, 60 jailed over relationship with 13-yr-old girl

A 60-year-old man, Dziku Isaac has been jailed seven years over his intimate relationship with a thirteen-year-old girl.

Dziku had enjoyed the little girl for over a before her parents got wind of their affair.

“The girl’s parents were aware that she had been coming to me but they did not know we were in an intimate relationship. They were not concerned until they got to know that I was sleeping with her,” he said.

Speaking to crimecheckghana.org during its visit to the Winneba Local Prison, Mr. Dziku said he was not been admired by mature women.

He resorted to dating young ladies who qualified as his grandchildren.

“I have a wife and a son who is less than a year old. My wife is very young. I married her four years ago. I married late because I did not get admirers,’ the inmate stated.

How their relationship started

According to Dziku Isaac, he was a labourer who loaded cement blocks onto vehicles at Kasoa in the Central Region.

He said one day he was at work and the teenage girl approached him professing her love for him.

Mr. Dziku also got interested and they began their love affair.

“I used to give her Ghc 5 any day she went to school. We met at the site I used to work anytime we wanted to have an affair,” he recounted.

Their relationship ended when another teenage girl noticed their amorous affair and reported it to the parent of the ‘victim’.

“The other girl saw us at the site after an affair and she reported to the mother of my girlfriend who threatened me with legal action,” he narrated.

Disappointingly, he said he was arrested and arraigned before court.

“My girlfriend’s parents and I were good friends so I thought they would not cause my arrest but they did after several threats of legal action,” he regretted.

After pleading guilty, he said the court handed him a seven-year prison term.

Dziku Isaac is currently serving his sentence at the Winneba Local Prison after being transferred from the Ankaful Maximum Prison.
