I have sold all my properties to buy life for my daughter; I am left with nothing – 60-yr-old man

A 60-year-old man, George Anobil Sam has sold everything he has toiled for in life to ‘buy life’ for her only daughter.

Sam’s daughter, Jemima Sam is suffering from Lupus, a disease that occurs when the body’s immune system attacks its own tissues and organs (autoimmune disease).

There is currently no cure for lupus and it requires life-long management. The disease is commonly seen in women — typically between the ages of 15 and 45.

“Even food to eat is difficult. I walk from Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital to McCarthy. I have not eaten since morning because I have nothing left,” Sam told crimecheckghana.org when he visited the offices of Crime Check Foundation for support.

According to the worried man, Jemima is currently on admission at the Korle-Bu teaching hospital and has to be on medication the rest of her life.

The expensive medications have cost Sam’s life saving.

“Almost every four days, I have to buy drugs of over a thousand Ghana cedis to sustain Jemima. I have exhausted all my savings in life. I am appealing to the public to come to my aid” he pleaded.

Jemima is not only Mr. Sam’s burden. The poor man’s wife is also ill with diabetes and this is taking a huge toll on his finances.

Sam could not hold back his tears while he narrated his predicament to Crime Check Foundation (CCF).

Under its Health Check Series, the Foundation gave him an amount of Two Thousand Two Hundred Ghana cedis to secure three days of medication for Jemima.

CCF also promised Mr. Sam further support.

The donation was a contribution from Canada0-based Ghanaian Women Aglow.
