Contractor Turkson who was knocked down by a driver regains strength

Philip Bentum Turkson has been bedridden for 6years after he was knocked down by a hit and run driver. Though the driver was later apprehended and jailed for 18months for his inability to pay the fine imposed on him by the court, Bentum has been dying slowly with a fractured spine without insurance or any kind of support to give him some ray of hope. His frail looking mum tells crimecheckghana that the driver has not visited her son after leaving prison. Sadly when he was referred to Korle Bu Teaching hospital for emergency treatment on the day of accident, characteristically, Bentum was turned away with the excuse that there is no bed. Listening to Bentum narrate his ordeal wasn’t an easy one after the CCF team paid him a visit at Pomadze in Winneba.

“Life has been terrible for me. As a young man whose objective was to begin my profession on a promising note, nature had its sordid plans for me. I feel like killing myself anytime the thought of being bedridden comes to mind.” Bentum tells crimecheckghana amid tears.

Bentum who is currently responding to treatment is appealing to Ghanaians to come to his rescue. “My family has suffered enough. They have virtually sold off all properties just to take care of me. I need the support of each and every single individual to save me from death”. He tells crimecheckghana.
