CCF SUPPORTS FUSENA ABUBAKAR

Life seems to be very difficult for 17year old Fusena Abubakar as she has to labour every morning before going to school.

Speaking to crimecheckghana in an interview, Fusena who hails from Ebi in the Western Region of Ghana said her father left home without notice when she was at a young age, and since then her mother has been struggling to take care of her and her six siblings.

“Before I go to school in the morning, I have to go and help people carry coconut to the market in order to get money for my upkeep. I am mostly late for school because of the work I have to do”. The 17year old said, crying.

All hope according to her, was lost after completing junior high school successfully because there was no money to purchase items and books needed for her secondary education.

The distraught young lady said she was supposed to go to school with the first batch but had no one to turn to for help so she had to stay home.

For her part, 50year old Hawa Alhassan, mother of Fusena said it saddens her to see her daughter stay at home while her school colleagues further their education. “Amongst my seven children, none of them have been to Senior High School and it makes me very sad. Fusena is the fourth among my children”. She said.

Hawa Alhassan pleaded with Ghanaians to help her with a capital to start a business so that she can take care of her daughter and ensure that she completes her education.

Crime Check Foundation CCF through it donors has come to the aid of Fusena Abubakar by providing her needs for her first year stay in School. The Foundation has provided her with a trunk, student mattress, stationeries, toiletries, provisions and some amount of money amongst others for her upkeep.

Fusena could not hide her joy. “I am so grateful to Ghanaians for coming to my aid. Today, I am also going to Senior High School. God richly bless everyone who supported me.”

The CCF Educational Support Scheme is aimed at supporting brilliant but needy students who find it difficult to pay their school fees because of financial challenges.
