Breast Cancer: Odorkor Maclean Basic School teachers, pupils sensitized, screened

Some three pupils of the Odorkor Maclean Basic School of the Odorkor Cluster of Schools have been identified with suspected breast cancer lumps.

The pupils between the ages of 10 to 15 were identified when Meena Breast Cancer Foundation (MBCF) organized a sensitization and breast cancer screening for teachers and pupils of the school.

In all about seventy-one individuals underwent the exercise.

Aside the suspected pupils with lumps, another student was identified with a strange discharge from her nipple.

The disease is now threatening the lives of teenagers, a grave concern for MBCF.

The Foundation pledged its support for suspected victims for further investigations and treatment.

Meena Breast Cancer Foundation rescued at least fifteen pupils of the Petuduase T.I Ahmadiyya Basic School in the Central Region when they were identified to have lumps in their breasts.

MBCF has visited some Senior High Schools in the Central and Greater Accra Regions with its campaign.

Some corporate and religious organizations have also benefited from the Foundation’s activities.

MBCF was established on the vision of the late Mrs. Amina Oppong Kwarteng, spouse of Mr. Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng Executive Director of Crime Check Foundation and MBCF. Mrs. Kwarteng died of breast cancer in 2022.

She had vowed to give her all to the fight against the deadly disease but sadly succumbed to it.
