Breast cancer: 9 students of Ahantaman Girls SHS referred for further medical investigations
Nine students of the Ahantaman Senior High School in the Western Region have been referred to medical facilities for advanced investigations to confirm their breast cancer status.
The Meena Breast Cancer Foundation (MBCF) team triggered referral after the students exhibited suspected signs of the disease.
The students were identified with suspected cancerous lumps during a screening exercise MBCF conducted for staff and students of the institution.
They were made out of a total of 373 students who participated in the exercise.
After issuing the referral chits, the Foundation’s team encouraged them to remain calm.
The school’s authority was notified about the conditions of the affected students and urged them to take immediate action to help them.
Ahantaman Girls SHS is part of the almost 50 schools the Foundation has visited across the country.
Meena Breast Cancer Foundation is fighting breast cancer all year round.
