Second batch of foreign volunteers study under CCF on Ghana’s criminal justice delivery

Crime Check Foundation (CCF) has received twohas received two foreign volunteers to study Ghana’s justice delivery system.

This is the second batch of volunteers under a partnership between CCF and UK-based NGO, Arms Around The Child.

Arms Around The Child worked closely with late Black Stars player, Christian Atsu to support the underprivileged in society.

Rebecca Prado, a Criminologist and Forensic Scientist, and Yasiera Schaap, a Law graduate from Australia and the Netherlands respectively, are both of Vocational Impact, an affiliate project of Arms Around The Child.

Vocational Impact operates under Arms Around The Child in the areas of philanthropy, criminology, and law implementing its programmes in Africa and India.

Crime Check Foundation and Arms Around The Child have fostered a relationship in the area of philanthropy especially when it worked to see to the realization of the vision of late Black Stars player, Christian Atsu to establish an orphanage.

During their three months stay in the country, the volunteers are expected to visit law courts to witness criminal prosecution proceedings in Ghana and also learn about the country’s reformation and rehabilitation programmes in a tour of some prisons.

Other volunteers will later join while others leave for their respective countries. All five volunteers will be in the country during the three-month study period.
The first batch comprised three volunteers Yasmin Souza Pombo Gusmao, Dearla Xhika, and Jodia Myii who spent a month in the country in 2023.

The collaboration with Arms Around The Child is evident in CCF’s recognition of going beyond the borders of Ghana as it makes a difference in our criminal justice delivery.
