CCF supports widow to undergo breast cancer treatment
A widow has received support from Meena Breast Cancer Foundation (MBCF) to undergo breast cancer medication.
With tears, Aishatu Mohammed visited the offices of MBCF cap in arms to seek support fearing she would die of the disease.
Aishatu Mohammed indicated she has been living with breast cancer for six years.
She said she has undergone surgery on her left breast but unfortunately, the disease has moved to affect the right breast.
“I underwent surgery but I feel unbearable pains in my right breast,” she said.
Aishatu said support for her treatment ceased after her husband passed away. This she said is making life difficult for her and is unable to buy prescribed drugs for her use. Doctors have placed her on a six-month medication.
“Please help me so that I can live a bit longer,” she pleaded.
MBCF gave her Six Hundred Ghana cedis to enable her to complete her medication.
Aside from support to patients, Meena Breast Cancer Foundation (MBCF) organizes sensitization and screening exercises for communities, schools, and corporate bodies.
Through its activities, ten thousand women have been engaged.
The Foundation was established in 2022 on the vision of the late Mrs. Amina Oppong Kwarteng who died of the dreaded disease.
She was the spouse of MBCF’s Executive Director, Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng.
