Oppong Kwarteng celebrates wife’s posthumous birthday with orphans

To mark the 45th posthumous birthday of his wife, the Executive Director of Meena Breast Cancer Foundation, Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng, has donated to an orphanage.

The items worth a little over GHC7000 included bags of rice, gallons of oil, packs of carbonated drinks, T-rolls, sanitary pads, washing soaps, bathing soaps, toffees, and tin tomatoes among others.

‘Today would have been my late wife’s 45th birthday, while she was alive, we donated items on her birthday, so I thought it wise to do this in her memory

“We are a family that believes in giving alms, she would have done this if she was alive” Oppong Kwarteng noted

Becky’s Foundation is located in the Awutu Senya District in the Central Region.

The foundation has a population of 61 children and their age ranges between 4-21 years.

‘Do not be disheartened by where you find yourself now, rather be encouraged that there are a lot of prominent people who did not grow up with their parents but turned out right’

‘The holy prophet Mohammed lost both parents at a tender age yet through him a religious group was birthed, just be prayerful that with God all things are possible’ Oppong Kwarteng advised the children.

In addition to the items donated, Mr.Kwarteng gave the foundation GHC5000 for the upkeep of the house.

‘I am a parent and I appreciate the difficulty in raising children, so in addition to the item, I present to you a cheque of GHC5000”

Receiving the gesture on behalf of the house, Seth Asiedu, the Director and founder of Becky’s foundation expressed his profound gratitude.

“Words cannot express our profound gratitude for this kind gesture, it couldn’t have come at the right time, may God grant Madam Meena a resting place till eternity, and may God replenish you, we are thankful” he noted.

The orphanage was sponsored by Ghanaian footballer, Christian Atsu before his untimely death.

Amina Oppong Kwarteng died of Breast Cancer on June 18, 2022. After her death, the Meena Breast Cancer Foundation was founded to raise awareness of cancer.
