CCF to name projects after Christian Atsu – Boss hints

For his immense support to its Ex-convicts’ Reintegration and Petty Offenders projects, Crime Check Foundation (CCF) plans to name them after late footballer, Christian Atsu.

The footballer was the single largest donor for the Petty Offenders project.

The project focuses on paying the fines of petty offenders and reintegrating them into the society

“He was passionate about those projects, Atsu believed that most of the convicted individuals were not guilty of the charges and many others would have served an alternative punishment,”

“He also understood the plight of the less privileged and genuinely wanted to help, “ the Executive Director of Crime Check Foundation, Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng said.

According to him, the organization was deliberating on naming the two projects after the late sportsman for his support.

“Atsu was not one of the most paid footballers but he set aside money for philanthropic work, not many people would do this, he had a heart of gold“

“The projects could be called the Christian Atsu Ex-convicts Re-integration and the Christian Atsu Petty Offenders projects,“ he stressed.

Before his untimely demise, Christian Atsu, through the petty offenders’ project had released 113 petty offenders and reintegrated several of them into society.

“He gave over 20 ex-convicts capital to start a business, many others he helped in diverse ways,“ Mr. Kwarteng recounted.

Christian Atsu died in a devastating earthquake that hit Turkey on February 6,2023

His lifeless body was flown into Ghana for final funeral rites and interments.

His one-week celebration is scheduled for March 4 and his funeral on 17 March 2023 in Accra.
