CCF organizes party for widows

Caring has the gift of making rejected people special and brings joy to the despaired. It is at the back of this, that Crime Check Foundation, CCF has held a party not only for its beneficiaries but the needy in Accra and Kumasi.

The event is the second organized in Accra and the first of its kind for beneficiaries in the Ashanti Region.

The event dubbed “CCF Fetes the Needy”, saw beneficiaries and the needy across the country converge to eat, dance and receive gifts.

Words of encouragement

Speaking at the event in Kumasi, the Executive Director of CCF Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng encouraged beneficiaries not to give up in life as others face extreme difficulties than what they are going through. Using Adjoa Yeboah who has been deformed through a car accident as a testimony, he urged them to remain steadfast in their current situations.

Mr Kwarteng also entreated the public to desist from stigmatizing people who have been deformed or who have disabilities as such conditions can affect anybody else.

“Adjoa Yeboah’s story is sad. Let’s not point fingers at others with disabilities because you never know what will befall you someday. Some incidents happen to test our faith. She was travelling with her husband but he died and she has become physically challenged. Most of you are discouraged in life, but what will you do if you are in the shoes of this woman?” He asked.

In Accra, Mr Kwarteng who is also the Ambassador Extraordinaire of Ghana Prisons hinted some new programmes to be rolled out by CCF. He said the Foundation will be persistent in its empowerment projects to bridge the huge poverty gap. “Looking at the huge poverty gap, government cannot do it alone so the way forward is to continue doing what we are doing to ensure that wealth is evenly distributed. We pray that we get more support to extend our programmes.” He said.

He added, “we intend to introduce new programmes next year. One is ‘The Return of the Ex-convicts’ and the second is ‘Run Away from Trouble’ all in a bid to reduce crime”.

The Voltic Company Limited supported the feast with water whiles a philanthropist Mrs Adjoa Adutwumwaa Amoako Kwarteng provided food and drinks. Other CCF donors across the globe also assisted with cash.

Dignitaries who graced the program include the Executive Director, Human Rights Initiative, Mina Mensah, Nana George Kwarteng, a representative of Voltic Company Limited, Kweku Addae Frimpong and some leading donors of CCF.

The Executive Director, Human Rights Initiative Mina Mensah, called for support for CCF to enable it continue its human centred programmes. Mrs Mensah also advised the beneficiaries to use their benefits judiciously. “The work of CCF does not only improve the living standards of the poor but it also promotes human rights so there is the need that we support them.” She appealed.

The representative of the Voltic Company Limited, Mr Frimpong thanked CCF for extending the good works of the foundation to the Ashanti Region as he beseeched the beneficiaries to live-up to expectation. “God knows why you are going through your current situation so don’t lose hope because God does what is best to Him.” He said.
