NEGLECTED DISABILITY CHILDREN AT NSAWAM ORTHOPEADIC TRAINING CENTRE CRIES FOR HELP

Many children at the Nsawam Orthopedic Training Centre (OTC) share their pathetic story to crimecheckghana as Mr. Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng pays them a visit. Their conditions have left them deserted by their family and the general public.

Joyce, a mother of 2 years and 2 months Kobby narrated her ordeal to crimecheckghana. She said “ Kobby  was born with her leg twisted and  doctors prescribed amputation as the best option for him”. Since the condition of the boy was detected, she has been rejected by the father of the child and even her own family. Joyce has since not been able to go home for the past two years nor raised money for the expensive artificial legs of his dear son, Kobby. She is pleading with the public to come to her aid.

9 years Jeremiah is another victim who was knocked down by a reckless driver and had one of his leg cut off. He had dropped out of school since then and lived at the OTC. Investigations crimecheckghana made reveals that the parents are struggling financially and any donor support would be much welcomed.

NEGLECTED DISABILI

In an interview with Garmel Sarpong, he disclosed to crimecheckghana that he was born with defect in his speech and weak legs. At 10 years he received the sad news that his legs have to be cut.

These and others have no one to turn to, Mr. Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng, the Executive Director of Crime Check Foundation appealed to the mercy of people to support these ones who are without hope. He lamented against the public stigma and advised that it could happen to anyone. “We should rather give them hope by supporting them”, he concluded.
