55-yr-old taxi driver rapes 11-yr-old girl after luring her with phone
A 55-year-old taxi driver, Gabriel Ansah, is pleading for forgiveness after serving a 5-year jail term for defilement.
Gabriel Ansah was charged by the court in Swedru for defiling an 11-year-old schoolgirl in 2018.
‘It was a Monday in February 2018, I had started work around Winneba junction but suddenly, I saw a lot of school children walking around 10 am in the morning, so I stopped to ask one what was happening” he narrated.
Gabriel stopped by Eyireba (not her real name) and learned she had been sacked for GHC5 printing fees.
The 11-year-old asked Gabriel if he could give her the GHC5 or GHC1 for a carbonated drink.
“I asked her to sit in the car before I give her the money, she sat in and I drove off, while we were going she noticed my phone, a tablet, and asked that I dash it to her. I told her I’ll only give her only if she agrees to sleep with me” he recounted.
The father of two drove Egyireba to his house and defiled her.
“I knew my wife had gone to the seashore to get fish, so I quickly took her home, after the encounter I fulfilled my promise to her and gave her the phone and a plate of rice,” he said.
The next day, Egyireba’s mother, who could not fathom how her 11-year-old daughter came home with a phone, asked where she got it from
After hours of interrogations, Egyireba confessed.
“She came to my house with the mother the next morning, the mother demanded GHC2000 or report me to the police, I did not have the money so before the close of day I was arrested and subsequently arraigned before the court,” he said.
Gabriel Ansah admitted to his mistakes even though he insisted Egyireba did not look 11-year-old
“She looks older than 11 and she had beautiful thighs which enticed me but I admit was wrong,” he said
After serving 5 years in jail, Gabriel was released on 17th March 2023.
While in jail, Gabriel lost the two most important women in his life, his wife to another man and his mother to death.
His 19-year-old daughter just got admissions to the nursing training school and needs financial support
“My daughter’s school is my top priority now, I want to start the transportation business to support her but first I need to renew my license” he added
In an exclusive interview with Crime Check Foundation, Gabriel admitted his wrong and pleaded for forgiveness.
He says he needs help to renew his license so he can work to support his daughter.
